Things to Do.... Week of July 30- August 4

What to do? When to do it? For the planner, this can be difficult; just about the time you say "yes" to something, another thing pops up. For the person, flying by the seat of their pants, it's easy to miss out on what you might really want to do, though none the less - there are things to do!

Not all routes lead exactly to where we think - such as taking Ruby for a walk the other night. Half way through, I remembered my friend was gardening this summer at the Sagebrush Elementary Community Gardens - which turns out, is in our newer neighborhood. So off we went, and here are some things we found (yes, you can walk through and I encourage you to. You may find a gardener doing their "thing," and have a short visit. Or just take in all there is, it's delightful and refreshing):

There was corn, brocolli, carrots, beats, onions; ladies picking the last of their sweet peas. Flowers. Places to sit. Peace. Very peaceful.

I really didn't want to leave. One of the reasons I did go check it out, aside from finding flowers and gardens in general as my favorite "eye candy," is because I wondered if my friend had entered any pickles into the fair. I don't think she has, at least not this year - any pickles will most likely be ready AFTER the fair.

Which leads me to another thing to do - take in the Sheridan County Fair. It's going on all week, through next Monday, August 5th evening (when the livestock sale happens). You can find a schedule at the www.sheridancountyfairgrounds.com

Tonight, there is music all around the county.

Out in the Big Horn area, at the Last Chance, there is food by Huzzy's food truck of Buffalo, starting at 5:00 pm. They'll be serving Hot Dogs and Steak Sandwiches; treats by Bliss Yogurt, and music by the One Shot Duo, starting at 6:00 pm. Goes til 9:00 pm #bighornwyoming

I have no ratings on Huzzy's, though Bliss Yogurt has always been good, and recently upped their "food truck" game. One Shot Duo is a favorite of mine; jazzy, even though I'm not really. They play around town, though also around the state and even into Montana. Nice easy listening.

Do you feel like you need to work out? Feel like you haven't worked out at all? I encourage you to try the Spin and Shred at Purenergy Fitness at 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm $10.00

It's a combination of spinning (which I hate, though I do it) and weights You'll realize either how much you can do, or how much you need to change so you can do that again. And I feel like it's not just one of the better classes available in Sheridan Wyoming, at this time, it's probably the best!! www.purenergygym.com

Purenergy is also offering their Saturday workout at South Park, starting this Saturday and every Saturday for the month of August. Workout is at 8:30 a.m. I love these park workouts and I hope to snag one myself during August.

The FINAL Unplug (Bugs) with the Sheridan Community Land Trust and Science Kids is tonight at 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at 14 Lane Lane, Sheridan.... Mud, Bugs, and and Fish (not quite music related, depending on your style)

MORE Music... at The Wagon Box in Story Wyoming

Music in Kendrick Park, starting at 7:30 pm ... The Saddletramps from Buffalo, Wyoming -

A 4-piece band from Buffalo, Wyoming

On Thursday night at Luminous Brewhouse in Sheridan Wyoming, starting at 6:00 pm will be John Kirlin and the Highplains Drifters. I don't know a lot about the band members, though you can blame John Kirlin and the Blacktooth Brewery for The Dead Swede (www.thedeadswede.com) but that's another story for another time. Enjoy music on Thursday night at www.luminousbrewhouse.com

And Luminous, is child friendly. People will probably be sitting and dancing on the football turf, though it's still a lovely place for families.

CrAzy Days in Sheridan, Wyoming starting Thursday August 1 through Saturday August 3rd...... at www.downtownsheridan.org

SATURDAY.... SATURDAY.... The Kula Space Yoga Festival is back.... this year in Downtown Sheridan Wyoming at Whitney Commons. Yoga begins at 8:00 am There will be plenty of yoga, meditation, fun and vendors. It's always been a well planned out event, one that I have enjoyed in the past and I think having it "in town," might be a little more inviting to many people. www.thekulaspace.com
