You get to choose, I do believe that. Whether you celebrate with friends or a significant other, you have choices on where to go! Things to do, Sheridan County, Wyoming.
Starting with today (February 13th at 9:00 am) - the Downtown Sheridan Association is having a Gnome Around Town. Pick up your playing card at any of the retailers downtown, that are participating in this activity and go find those cute little Gnomes (they picked the perfect winter weekend to show up). A drawing will be held on Monday February 17 for gift baskets!

Tonight, we have:
Sheridan Stationery (535 N Main Street) says this about there Galentine's Book Exchange:
Grab your girlfriends and head on down for our Galentine’s Book Exchange!
Join us from 6-7 pm on Thursday February 13th for food, fun, and BOOKS!
Bring a book to add to our book exchange table, and in turn you can snag a new title someone else brought.
Charcuterie, bevies, drawings and some surprise deals and are all in store!
What I can tell you, is that Jessica Bohnsack, owner of Sheridan Stationery is very customer focused - and she has accumulated a small staff of like minded people. Once in there, you really do want to buy the whole bookstore. And I'm going to find a book right now that I can take down and exchange!
Here's what Wyld Adventures (171 N Main Street, Suite 102) has to say about their event:
Grab your girls and join us at WYLD Adventures for a night of shopping, sipping, and celebrating friendship!
Thursday, 6-8 PM
Enjoy:
Shopping from amazing local vendors
Drinks & delicious bites
Live music to set the vibe
Fun giveaways & more!
Plus, we’ve got something for all of your Valentines—whether you’re shopping for your besties, your significant other, or yourself!
We can’t wait to see you there! Tag your Galentines and make it a night to remember!
Wyld Adventures took a rather big space (although they were in one before) and made it quite homey. There is so much going on in their store without it being overstimulating! They are also very accommodating to people with dogs. And small children.
Here is what the Cottonwood Kitchen Shop (234 North Main) has to say about their event:
Tonight! Make us part of your downtown pop-up hop! Totally free, 4 amazing vendors, small bites, signature mocktail, and see what the store has for special deals.
Jessica Garrelts owns the Cottonwood Kitchen and she is full of creative ideas! If you love to cook, or if you wished you did, don't miss this stop!
One last but not least... Frackeltons. 55 N Main Street. Call (307) 675-6055
I think that covers it for tonight (though don't forget your Gnome around Town card!).... but tomorrow, for Valentines Day, here are some options I have come across:
BRUNCH... Right, food? Take a very pretty drive out to Big Horn and welcome brunch at:
Just LeDoux It Saloon and Steak Out
They are located at 158 Johnson Street, Big Horn WY. Lots of fun; John and Jessica have been around the Sheridan area for 10 years or so. They keep putting out different ideas to keep people fed and entertained at the same time.
Here's what they had to say about their brunch: We're opening early so you can enjoy Valentines Day all day! Special brunch menu offered til 3pm & a complimentary Mimosa with each meal
And here is their Valentine's Day Dinner Menu:
Reservations Recommended, (307) 655-5176

Another event in Big Horn....at the Sly Bar... Barn in Big Horn.
Drink specials.... get a pizza from the Big Horn Merc (oh yummy) and spend the evening with the barn!
Next year, keep your eyes open for the event at the Brinton Museum... it is sold out for this year!
A movie ... maybe you want a road trip the other direction...
Senior Afternoon Movie (though I suspect anyone could go....)
"Jeremiah Johnson" is being shown at the Tongue River Valley Community Center
( in Dayton at 1:00, Friday February 14.) A classic. Perfect for this cold weather.
A great way to make a day of Jeremiah Johnson, enjoy the snow without necessarily getting IN it.... would be to leave early and stop in at Innominate Coffeehouse and Bakery, grab a coffee and a pastry to enjoy during the show... (they are on the main drag as you cruise through Ranchester to get to Dayton)
And then after the show, if you don't take the shortcut, if you head back through Ranchester, you could stop by the Tongue River Brewery... if not for a beer, if not for one of their signature cocktails (or mocktails) definitely for one of their pizza (though why you'd skip a beer is beyond me)....

They have a few televisions with sports on, they have a pool table and few other games around the room... and if I remember correctly, they even have some board games to enjoy with a friend, a partner, or your family. Make a nice evening of the day!

Staying IN Sheridan, check out:
Terra's Kitchen
part of the Shabby Shack has this offering (and if you haven't made reservations, there is no time to waste). They do an outstanding job with their food, their ideas, and their portions:
Text: "Reserve" to (307) 763-3038

How about supporting the Advocacy and Resource Center....

The Advocacy & Resource Center's 8th annual fundraising event:
Love Shouldn't Hurt 2025
featuring The Fun Pianos dueling pianos.
Tickets are $75.00 and may also be purchased in person at the A & R Center, 136 Coffeen Ave., Sheridan, WY. or at the door.
However the event is held at the Kalif Shrine, 145 W Loucks, Sheridan WY
Here's what to expect:
6pm - Cocktail Hour (claim your seats and get a plate of food catered by Shabby Shack, a beverage, & get ready for the show).
7pm-10pm - Approximate start and end of the Fun Pianos show!!
And the last I'm going to mention .... Titos Espresso Martini Week. Sheridan Wyoming. Started February 9 and goes through Saturday February 15. Stop by these participating bars, enjoy an Espresso Martini (may be a great way to stay awake with all the sugar and activities going on... although I might be awake and tipsy if I try them all in the same day)...

Participating bars in Sheridan are: No Name Bar (901 N Main Street - it's on the corner, you can't miss it).... Ice Haus (412 Whitney Lane) - they are in a new location, a beautiful building and they are featuring Nonna's Kitchen... so food and drink!! .... Frackeltons (55 N Main)... they have food too, and have opened up for their winter season..... Le Reve Restaurant and Bar (1 E Alger) .... you will be served in jeans that cover your bum and a top that covers your belly, you may feel underdressed depending on the evening, though you will be served..... and Warehouse Gastropub (333 N. Brooks Street).... they are serving a Valentines Dinner and will have music and Dancing.... You have to try ALL the martinis to participate. So maybe, start tonight....
Oh...oh .... oh.... one last thing. Very fitting, I think, for our cold weather....and even for choosing what to do, where to go, and if you don't have a significant other, who to do all these activities with... the Sheridan Civic Theater Guild has teamed up (per usual) with the Wyo Theater to bring you:
MISERY.
I got to see it last night. The dress rehearsal. In the Mars Black Box at the WYO Theater. Well done! A cast of 3. It's a bit over 2 hours with a short intermission. I was very honest with the director, I would not have seen it otherwise (if I hadn't been invited to the dress rehearsal). There is violence. There are gun shots. There is also a plot twist I didn't know about. and the acting, TOP NOTCH. Don't take your children, definitely a GO.
